Greetings, everyone. I am Jag, a registered nurse. Today, I will discuss my proposed intervention for Daniel. Daniel is an adult experiencing the prevalent health issue of tobacco addiction. Over 37 million American adults currently smoke cigarettes, 17% of all adults in the country either every day or occasionally throughout a typical week (Mark et al., 2021). To address this global concern, I suggest utilizing telehealth for educational sessions.
Through video conferencing, the medical team can actively monitor Daniel’s progress. Attending educational and therapy sessions gives patients insights into the effectiveness of withdrawal and depression management strategies. In my reflection, I will also explore the personal and professional skills added to this capstone project, underlining its relevance to tackling tobacco addiction.
Contribution of the Intervention to Patient Satisfaction and Quality of Life
The assessment of the intervention’s impact on Daniel’s satisfaction and quality of life is conducted impartially and justly. Daniel expressed appreciation for the educational sessions delivered through telehealth. He took satisfaction with the informative sessions addressing a comprehensive approach to managing tobacco addiction (Ruiter et al., 2022). These sessions have inspired Daniel to engage in a regular understanding of addiction triggers, whether stress-related or habitual. Daniel mentioned that the information presented in these sessions was open, making it easy to understand and incorporate into his daily routines.
The positive feedback from Daniel implies that the sessions effectively increased his understanding of addiction withdrawal and stress management strategies (Ruiter et al., 2022).Furthermore, Daniel also noted that integrating telehealth platforms has facilitated convenient access to consultations and timely treatment, fostering a sense of control and autonomy. Telehealth provides financial relief for patients, as remote consultations alleviate the need for in-person visits, addressing financial constraints (Caponnetto et al., 2023).
NURS FPX 4900 Assessment 5 Intervention Presentation and Capstone Video Reflection
The constant monitoring and adjustments to treatment strategies through virtual sessions contribute to a dynamic and responsive intervention approach that satisfies Daniel. He expressed the convenience of staying connected with healthcare providers through video conferencing, eliminating the necessity for regular physical visits (Mirecka et al., 2021). Beyond satisfaction, the intervention has demonstrated a tangible improvement in the overall quality of life of addicted patients with the help of timely treatment, counseling, and anxiety management (Mirecka et al., 2021).
The intervention’s multifaceted approach addresses not only the physiological aspects of addiction but also the psychological and social dimensions, creating a comprehensive impact on patients’ lives (Dong et al., 2020). Regarding the impact on his quality of life, Daniel reported that adhering to the recommended lifestyle adjustments reduced depression and increased social circle. He also shared feelings of enhanced self-assurance and motivation to manage his tobacco addiction. The positive feedback from Daniel underscores the intervention’s role in elevating his satisfaction and overall quality of life, aligning with findings that highlight the positive influence of such interventions on well-being (Dong et al., 2020).
Evidence to Plan and Implement Capstone Project
The capstone project was accurately done with a strong emphasis on evidence-based practice, ensuring its groundwork was laid on credible, peer-reviewed literature relevant to tobacco addiction. At the strategy’s initiation, broad literature reviews on tobacco addiction management were conducted to identify effective health improvement strategies for patients (Edinoff et al., 2022). Throughout the planning phase, the healthcare team thoroughly examined peer-reviewed papers, clinical recommendations, and scholarly articles to identify evidence-backed approaches for tobacco addiction management. This literature review was pivotal in determining the proposed intervention plan (Byaruhanga et al., 2020).
The plan adhered to evidence-based principles during implementation. The design of educational sessions and the implementation of follow-up procedures were all informed by understanding from peer-reviewed research studies (Margañón et al., 2023). Aligned with scholarly literature, the team encouraged managing social isolation and stress-coping strategies for tobacco addiction. It also involved enhancing the effectiveness of nicotine replacement therapies and the integration of telehealth for healthcare delivery in addr
